ISEAT 2005
1st International Workshop on Integration of Software Engineering and Agent Technology
Melbourne, Australia, 19/09/2005–21/09/2005
Agents are a promising approach for designing and building the increasingly complex software systems that are part of the essential infrastructure of modern society, but much of the research on agent-oriented software engineering is done by a community with strong links to agents and weaker links to mainstream software engineering and to industry. ISEAT set out to build that bridge, between the agent research community and the software engineering research community, and between researchers and practising software engineers. It ran three times, each in conjunction with the International Conference on Quality Software (QSIC), and each with a deliberately pragmatic theme. The first workshop took *Languages, Tools and Platforms* as its theme and ran with the 5th International Conference on Quality Software. Proceedings were published by IEEE Computer Society Press, with selected papers invited to the International Journal of Agent-Oriented Software Engineering.
