SCOPE
The 16th International Conference of the Italian Association for
Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA 2017) will take place in Bari, Italy,
from 14 November to 17 November 2017. It will be hosted by the
Department of Computer Science, at the University of Bari.
AI*IA 2017 is organized by the Italian Association for Artificial
Intelligence (AI*IA – Associazione Italiana per l’Intelligenza
Artificiale), which is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1988
devoted to the promotion of Artificial Intelligence. The society aims to
increase the public awareness of AI, encourage the teaching of it and
promote research in the field.
The conference covers broadly the many aspects of theoretical and
applied Artificial Intelligence. A series of workshops dedicated to
specific topics will complement the main conference program.
PROGRAMME
Keynote speakers:
- Carla P. Gomes (Cornell University, U.S.A.)
- Peter W.J. Staar (IBM Zurich Research Laboratory, Switzerland)
Main track:

Workshops:
The programme of AI*IA 2017 features also a wide spectrum of specialized

Other initiatives:
- Two thematic panels organized jointly with GULP and AISC (more details
yet to come)
- Ceremonies for awarding annual AI*IA prizes (Premio Lesmo, Premio
Cadoli, Premio Somalvico), and prizes for the best AI*IA 2017 paper
- One dissemination event open to the public
- AI*IA members' meeting (with elections of the new board)
