November 1999

Logic languages have already proved to be effective in developing single agents and enabling inter-agent communication in multi-agent systems. In this paper, we show how LP can also be exploited for multi-agent coordination, by ruling inter-agent communication so as to build social behaviours. For this purpose, we present the LP-based LuCe model and technology for the coordination of Internet agents, based on the notion of Logic Tuple Centre as the core of the agent interaction, and show its impact on the design and development of multi-agent systems.
