abstract

This research paper explores the perception of the future of virtual and augmented reality through predictive sentiment analysis, focusing on Apple’s Vision Pro technology. The aim of conducting this research is to obtain a general idea of whether the public perceives this technology as a potential mass consumer product in the years to come. Through sentiment analysis on technical forums regarding both Apple and competitor’s AR products, conclusions are drawn which will provide opportunities to investigate various viewpoints on the subject at hand. To this purpose, the Python programming language was used to perform sentiment analysis on the various data collected, while business intelligence tools aided in visualizing the outputs. This analysis does not seek to accurately predict the technology’s future success, rather it aims to gauge people’s expectations regarding how this technological advancement might impact their daily lives, comparing it to existing innovations from the past. By focusing on these insights, the research aims to shed light on the potential adoption and implications of Apple’s Vision Pro and other AR technologies in the coming years.
