Knowledge
This space collects general knowledge about the knowledge items an extended CRIS like APICe deals with: the standards, protocols, vocabularies and conventions through which research products, people, events and venues are described, identified, exchanged and shown on the Web. Each page explains one item in general terms — what it is, who defined it, how it works and who uses it — independently of how APICe adopts it.
Items
| item | what it is |
|---|---|

| Dublin Core | the fifteen-element vocabulary that every repository speaks, and the common denominator of metadata harvesting |
| OAI-PMH | the protocol through which repositories let aggregators harvest their metadata automatically |
| Open Graph | the protocol through which a Web page tells social networks and messaging apps how to preview it when a link is shared |
| OpenAIRE | the European infrastructure for open science: the research graph, its guidelines, and how sources join it |
| schema.org | the shared vocabulary with which a Web page tells search engines what it is about, as typed, linked data |
| Zenodo | CERN's open repository for research outputs: drafts, DOIs, versions, access |
