The IADIS Web Based Communities conference has run since 2004 on the culture of web communities, chaired throughout by Piet Kommers and Pedro Isaías. It was a stand-alone IADIS conference in its early years and later became one of the conferences of the IADIS Multi Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems (MCCSIS), taking social media into its title along the way. APICe records the two editions over which Andrea Omicini served on the scientific committee.
