Popularize Artificial Intelligence 2012

In 1934 Alan Turing argued that machines could imitate thought, and in "Computing Machinery and Intelligence" he proposed what is now known as the Turing test — for decades the best calling card for popularising artificial intelligence. To celebrate the hundredth anniversary of Turing's birth, the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence organised a workshop and prize aimed at divulging the practical uses of AI: demonstrators, videos, demos, systems and short papers written to be accessible to a broad public, in three categories — student experiences inside AI courses, research and academic experiences, and industrial experiences. It ran as a poster session with prizes by category, and the best contributions were also presented in a plenary session of AI*IA 2012. The proceedings are CEUR-WS Vol-860.
