From: Eurosis <info@eurosis.org> To: andrea.omicini@unibo.it Date: Thu, 31 May 2007 12:09:53 +0200 Subject: [EUROSIS] Workshop on Multi-Agent Systems and Simulation 2007 ------------WORKSHOP ON MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS AND SIMULATION 2007------------ CALL FOR PAPERS --------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Workshop on Multi-Agent Systems and Simulation (MAS&S) --------------------------------------------------------- to be held during The 2007 European Simulation and Modelling Conference (ESM'07) October 22-24, St.Julian's, Malta, 2007 ESM'07 The 21st annual ESM 2007 (European Simulation and Modelling Conference) is the original European international conference concerned with state of the art technology in modelling and simulation. ESM 2007 aims to provide an overview of academic research in the field of computer simulation. A number of major tracks of simulation research are presented next to specific workshops, which capture the art and science of present-day simulation research. ESM'07 is sponsored by the EUROSIS (The European Multidisciplinary Society for Modelling and Simulation Technology), and is hosted by the University of Malta, St.Julians, Malta. Multi-Agent Systems and Simulation (MAS&S'07) ------------------------------------------------- Multi-agent systems (MASs) provide powerful models for representing real-world environments with an appropriate degree of complexity and dynamism. Several industrial experiences have already shown that the use of MAS offers advantages in manufacturing processes, e-Commerce, and network management. Since MASs in such contexts are to be tested before their actual deployment and execution, methodologies that support validation through simulation (e.g. discrete-event simulation) of the MAS under development are highly required. In fact, simulation of a MAS can not only demonstrate that a MAS correctly behaves according to its specifications but can also support the analysis of emergent properties of the under-test MAS. In this workshop we are interested in the combined issues of multi-agent systems and simulation particularly in the context of Agent Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE). Submission Guidelines --------------------- Original papers from the above-mentioned or other related areas will be considered. This includes three categories of submissions: 1) original and unpublished research; 2) reports of innovative computing applications in the sciences, engineering, business, government, education and industry; and 3) reports of successful technology transfer to new problem domains. The following paper submission types are possible: - FULL PAPER (including abstract, conclusions, diagrams, references,length: 5-8 pages) During review, the submitted full papers can be accepted as a regular 5 page paper. If excellent,full papers can be accepted by the program committee as an extended (8-page) paper. - EXTENDED ABSTRACT (at least five pages) Participants may also submit a 5 page extended abstract for a regular (5 pages) or short (3 pages). - SHORT ABSTRACT (at least three pages) Participants may also submit a 3 page abstract for a short paper or poster. ONE PAGE ABSTRACTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Each submission will be reviewed by at least three members of the International Program Committee. All accepted papers will be published in the ESM'2007 Conference Proceedings.
