10th European Workshop on Multi-Agent Systems
Annecy, France, 02/05/2001–04/05/2001

MAAMAW was the European workshop on multi-agent systems, held regularly in Western Europe from 1989 and deliberately kept small — a limited audience, a convivial site, interdisciplinary grounding and a large place for discussion. The tenth and last edition, themed *Multi-Agent Systems Organisations*, was held at the ATRIA congress centre in Annecy under the auspices of AFIA, with support from AgentLink II and the MAS working group of GdR-PRC I3, and sanctioned by IFMAS. Its call notes that, with ICMAS becoming yearly, MAAMAW was moving back to its original spirit: a workshop for a limited audience of a hundred, in a convivial site. Paolo Ciancarini, Jacques Ferber and Les Gasser were the invited speakers, each addressing organisation from a different discipline — computer science, life sciences, and human and social sciences.
