MAAMAW'89

MAAMAW was the European workshop on multi-agent systems, held regularly in Western Europe from 1989 and deliberately kept small — a limited audience, a convivial site, interdisciplinary grounding and a large place for discussion. The founding edition. Its proceedings appeared as *Decentralized A.I.*, edited by Yves Demazeau and Jean-Pierre Müller (North-Holland, 1990, ISBN 0-444-88705-9) — the first of the three Decentralized A.I. volumes that carried the series before it moved to Springer LNAI.
