ISEAT 2006

Agents are a promising approach for designing and building the increasingly complex software systems that are part of the essential infrastructure of modern society, but much of the research on agent-oriented software engineering is done by a community with strong links to agents and weaker links to mainstream software engineering and to industry. ISEAT set out to build that bridge, between the agent research community and the software engineering research community, and between researchers and practising software engineers. It ran three times, each in conjunction with the International Conference on Quality Software (QSIC), and each with a deliberately pragmatic theme. The second workshop took *Architectures and Models, Meta-Models* as its theme, focusing on architecture, model and meta-model issues in the design and implementation of agent-oriented systems, and ran with the 6th International Conference on Quality Software.
