Dear Andrea Omicini,

This is an invitation to submit a paper to the 3rd International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence (ICAART 2011 - http://www.icaart.org/), which has currently an open call for papers. ICAART will be held in Rome, Italy next year, on January 28-30, 2011.

The conference is sponsored by INSTICC and held in cooperation with the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA), the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (AEPIA) and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). INSTICC is member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC), Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) and the Object Management Group (OMG). BVNQ

ICAART brings together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the theory and applications in these areas. Two simultaneous but strongly related tracks will be held, covering both applications and current research work within the area of Agents, Multi-Agent Systems and Software Platforms, Distributed Problem Solving and Distributed AI in general, including web applications, on one hand, and within the area of non-distributed AI, including the more traditional areas such as Knowledge Representation, Planning, Learning, Scheduling, Perception and also not so traditional areas such as Reactive AI Systems, Evolutionary Computing and other aspects of Computational Intelligence and many other areas related to intelligent systems, on the other hand.

The conference program features a number of Keynote Lectures to be delivered by distinguished world-class researchers, including those listed below.

Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support. The proceedings will be indexed by several major international indexers, including INSPEC, DBLP and we are awaiting the confirmation of indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index and EI.
Additionally, a short list of the best presented papers of the conference will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in a CCIS Series book.
Best paper awards will be given during the conference closing session.
All published papers will be also available at the SciTePress' Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/).

Workshops and special sessions are also invited. If you wish to propose workshop or a special session, for example based on the results of a specific research project, please contact the secretariat. Workshop chairs and Special Session chairs will benefit from logistics support and other types of support, including secretariat and financial support, to facilitate the development of a valid idea.
