HICSS is among the longest-standing conferences in information systems and computing, organised as a large set of minitracks within thematic tracks. The Architectures for Distributed Systems minitrack of the Software Technology Track explored the relative merits of different distributed architectures — agent-oriented and resource-oriented, peer-to-peer, grids, client-server and hybrids — from an interdisciplinary perspective, bringing together technologists, industry practitioners, open source communities and researchers.
