Special Track on Agreement Technologies at ACM SAC 2009
Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, 09/03/2009–12/03/2009

There is a need for models, frameworks, methods and algorithms for constructing large-scale open distributed computer systems where autonomy, interaction and mobility are the key characteristics. Such technologies can be structured around the concept of agreement among computational agents, based on three fundamental concepts: a normative context that determines the rules of the game, the establishment of an agreement for action between agents that respects that context, and the fulfilment of the agreements reached. Under the umbrella of agreement technologies the track considers the techniques and tools that enable software components to reach and fulfil agreements on the mutual provision of services.
