AOIS 2005

Agent concepts hold great promise for responding to the new realities of active information systems. They offer higher level abstractions and mechanisms which address issues such as knowledge representation and reasoning, communication, coordination, cooperation among heterogeneous and autonomous parties, perception, commitments, goals, beliefs and intentions. The workshop focuses on how agent concepts and techniques will contribute to meeting information systems needs today and in the future.

AOIS is a bi-conference event: a single logical workshop with two physical venues, one in the agents community and one in the information systems community. The seventh edition met at AAMAS 2005 in Utrecht on 26 July 2005 and at ER 2005 in Klagenfurt on 27 October 2005; the joint post-proceedings appeared as Agent-Oriented Information Systems III, LNAI 3529.
