1st Congress of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence

The first Congress of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence, held at IRST (Istituto per la Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica) in Trento in November 1989, the year after the association was founded. It opened the odd-year Congress line that ran alongside the even-year Convegno; the later editions of Palermo 1991, Torino 1993, Firenze 1995, Roma 1997 and Bologna 1999 all count from it. No proceedings volume of this edition appears in the Springer series, which begins with Palermo 1991, and no surviving source gives the exact days.
