Biography

Enrico Denti received his laurea degree cum laude in Electronic Engineering in December 1991, got a grant in 1993 from the Italian National Research Council (CNR), and received his PhD in Computer Engineering in 1998.

He first worked as contract professor at the University of Ferrara (1994 and 1998) and Bologna (1999). Then, from 2000 to 2004, he worked as a Research Associate at the School of Engineering of the University of Bologna (Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems, DEIS). Since December 2004 he has been Associate Professor, currently at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI).

He was for nine years a member of the Executive Committee (Giunta) of DEIS. From 2003 to 2004 he was a member of the School's Teaching Commission, and some years later of the School's Census Commission. He also coordinated for some years the commission in charge of evaluating students' transfers and curricula for Computer Engineering, and took part in several workgroups inside his departments. He is currently a member of the Quality Assurance Commission of the Computer Engineering courses, and of the commission evaluating applications for teaching contracts in the Computer Engineering sector.

Since 2016 he has been responsible for an Erasmus+ exchange programme with the Faculty of Informatics of the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU, Lithuania).

Since 2017 he has also coordinated the Faculty Commission in charge of designing the whole timetable of the courses at the School of Engineering and Architecture in Bologna.

He has written many publications in international and national journals, books, conferences and workshops — over 1700 citations in Google Scholar, over 750 in Scopus. He was the scientific referent of the Bologna unit of the BISON European research project (H2020, 2015–2017), has supervised and co-supervised PhD students and post-doc researchers, is a member of several international programme committees, and has contributed to the organisation of several international conferences and workshops as local organising chair.

He served as contract professor of computer science first at the University of Ferrara, then at the Alma Mater Studiorum–Università di Bologna, on both the Bologna and the Cesena campus. He is currently responsible for Foundations of Informatics T-2 in the bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, and for Languages and Computational Models M in the master's degree in Computer Engineering.
