This thesis can be split in two parts:
1) Develop a module for the Alchemist simulator which allows to load and parse maps real world street maps from Google Maps and/or OpenStreetMaps, possibly also extending the simulator model with higher level abstractions (Cars? Lanes? Pedestrians?)
2) Explore, analyse and possibly invent self-organising algorithms to coordinate the traffic flow
