Ongoing Activities

Generally speaking, my research is about Data Mining, i.e. the study of principles and methods to extract useful information from great volumes of data.

Currently, I'm focusing on text mining, the application of data mining principles and techniques to extract information from large collections of unstructured text documents. I'm addressing possible applications like text categorization, the automatic labeling of documents with a set of topics, possibly organized in a hierarchy.

Projects

  • Autonomic Security MIUR PRIN National research project
The goal of the project is to define and develop decentralized infrastructures which are able to self-organize distributed systems, included networks of micro-devices such as wireless sensor networks, in order to efficiently perform message routing, multi-dimensional data management and offering in-network data mining services.

Teaching

  • Lab teacher of the Data mining and decision support teaching unit in the Master Degree course in Economics, Management and Statistics, Statistical Sciences (course page).
