Abstract

Like many board games before it, it’s time for “What Do You Meme” to have an online counterpart.
The rules are simple: in each round, the player who is established as a judge has to pull a picture from the deck and place it on the board so that everyone can see it. Then each competitor chooses from the 7 caption cards in his hand the one that best describes the picture on the board. All the caption cards chosen by the players are collected and shuffled to faces covered by the judge. In this way the judge can decide the winner of that round with total impartiality after reading all the entries. In a clockwise direction each player becomes the judge of the next rounds. The winner is the one who first reaches the chosen maximum score.
The project aims to implement an online and distributed version of the game, with a lobby system that allows groups of friends to play together.
