SELMAS 2002 - Program 1st International Workshop on Software Engineering for Large-Scale Multi-Agent Systems Sunday, May 19, 2002 * Orlando, Florida - USA In Conjunction with ICSE 2002 Home Call for Papers Important Dates Accepted Papers Advance Program LNCS Publication Program Comittee Organizing Comittee Contact Information Preliminary Program ( PDF Format ) SELMAS 2002 will be a full-day event, structured around sessions of theme-oriented presentations. The format of the sessions will combine 15-minute presentations on submitted position papers and focused discussion groups. Following the paper presentations, the workshop participants will engage in structured discussion, which is intended to highlight common themes, to identify problems and issues. The idea is to foster the exchange of ideas and information in an informal setting, but with some boundaries placed on topics and time to ensure that the workshop stays on schedule. We encourage all participants - whether or not they are giving formal presentations - come prepared to share his/her experiences, perspectives, problems and ideas on software engineering for large-scale multi-agent systems. The discussions will be moderated by the session chairs. 8:00 – 10:00 Opening Session Session 1 – Modeling and Structuring MAS: When and How Presentations: Paper 1: Sustainable Information Ecosystems Rune Gustavsson and Martin Fredriksson ( Department of Software Engineering and Computer Science, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Ronneby - SWEDEN) Paper 2: Large-Scale Agent Systems: A World Modeling Perspective Eric Yu and Luiz Cysneiros ( Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto, Toronto - CANADA) Paper 3: The Reflective Blackboard Architectural Pattern for Developing Large-Scale Multi-Agent Systems Otavio Silva, Alessandro Garcia and Carlos Lucena ( Computer Science Department – TecComm Group , Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Rio de Janeiro - BRAZIL ) Paper 4: Engineering Mobility in Large Multi Agent Systems: A Case Study in Urban Traffic Management Marco Mamei and Michael Mahan ( Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Modena ITALY Nokia Research Center Agent Technology Group 5, Burlington - USA) Discussion: MAS Modeling and Structuring – When and How 10:00 – 10:30 Break 10:30 – 12:00 Session 2 – Dependability and Reusability in Large MAS Presentations: Paper 1: Dynamic and Adaptive Replication for Large-Scale Reliable Multi-Agent Systems Zahia Guessoum, Jean-Pierre Briot, S.
