ORGMOD 2009

Enterprises and public bodies are supported by information systems, and the question is how to align the organisation with the software and IT systems that support it. Modelling the essential structures, behaviours, concepts and entities is the prerequisite for understanding that alignment, and many techniques offer means to do it — Petri nets, event-process chains, UML, BPEL, WSDL — as do the tools, methods and conceptual frameworks around them. ORGMOD 2009 brought practitioners and researchers together on exactly that, as a satellite event of both Petri Nets 2009 (the 30th International Conference on Application and Theory of Petri Nets and Other Models of Concurrency) and RSP 2009 (the 20th IEEE/IFIP International Symposium on Rapid System Prototyping). Jacques Ferber gave the invited talk, "From AGR to MASQ: Understanding organizations from a multi-agent point of view". Selected papers were invited to a volume of ToPNoC, the LNCS journal subline Transactions on Petri Nets and Other Models of Concurrency.
