XML representation of Functional Safety Requirements according to ISO26262 and AUTOSAR 3LSC Standards

This thesis, developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli Powertrain S.P.A., shows architectures, requirements and implementation rules concerning safety-related systems according to the new normative ISO26262 on functional safety in the automotive area and the new AUTOSAR 3LSC architecture standard. These documentations have to be used by Magneti Marelli for different purposes, such as checking the condition of its system safety level and to update its documentation. This thesis shows the representation of the overall documentation previously mentioned (knowledge description), in a way to define an abstract documentation level useful for several purposes. This abstract level is defined with XML technology (XML, XML schema, XPath, XPointer, XLink, XSLT) that is a simple manner to describe information.
